PRODUCT: Holts Tyreweld Emergency Puncture Repair

Have you ever suffered from a puncture and been faced with the grim, irritating prospect of a roadside tyre swap? Not fancy the idea, especially with the dark days and nights of Winter looming?
Well, there's a product on the market that can put an end to all that faffing about in the boot searching for jacks and spares, getting dirty/wet or even breaking a nail or a bead of sweat.
It's called Tyreweld, and it's recently been upgraded to be even better at the job of "getting you back on the road in minutes" following a flat tyre incident.
Sold by leading aftermarket car product experts Holt as "an emergency puncture repair in a can" – Tyreweld has been a proven winner for years, helping to get folk back on the road following a flat tyre in under a couple of minutes – without having to change the wheel.
Holt says: "Tyreweld is quick and easy to use in an emergency; instantly re-inflating and repairing a tyre so it can be driven home safely before being taken to a garage for a full repair."
You simply try and locate the puncture cause and remove it (where possible), then move the vehicle (where possible & safe) so the cause of the puncture is at the bottom of the tyre, attach the Tyreweld connector to the affected tyre, twist the red button to 'ON' and wait for the can to empty its magic water-based foamy contents in under 90-seconds (away from the traffic), turn to 'OFF' and you're good to go.
All you need to do then is drive no faster than 50mph (which is probably for the best with a puncture anyhow, and perhaps reduce the oversteer sessions for a bit too!) for (a very specific!) minimum of six miles, and you should have good tyre pressure and no leaks for a short term solution.
Of course, it's not a permanent fix, and you should then go to get a new tyre ASAP... where the trick foam can be easily cleared out, causing no lasting damage.
Tyreweld's emergency puncture repair kit is is available nationwide in Halfords, Tesco stores, DIY retailers and petrol stations and comes in 300ml, 400ml and 500ml sizes which are suitable for tyre diameters of 13-14”, 15-16” and 17” respectively.
Sadly, that's no good for Project Beast's 20-inch Range Rover rims, but it's spot on for the 16-inch rims on Project UP! in the event of a puncture.
And don't think you're immune from a flat... the RAC reports it attends more than 340,000 puncture-related incidents a year. That's a lot. And with many new cars coming with no spare tyre these days for fuel economy boosts too, so this is surely Tyreweld's moment...?
So, for the sake of a few quid (c£6-7 RRP), it's got to be worth a punt for piece of mind, right? We think so...
Claire Fenton, at Holts, said: "Flat tyres can come at the worst times – when you’ve got a car full of children, are running late to a special occasion or on the way to work – and can be inconvenient, time-consuming and stressful. Tyreweld is the perfect solution for punctures and has been designed and fully tested by our in-house lab team to be as quick and easy to use as possible, helping get drivers safely on their way again without the need for a wheel change at the side of a busy road. We like to describe Tyreweld as ‘peace of mind, in a can, in your boot'."
