Tour Britannia bumper entry list

This year's camaraderie, gentlemen driver Tour Britannia looks set to be the biggest entry list ever of classic and retro sports, race and rally cars. And there's still a month before the flag drops. One of the UK’s premier race tours on the classic racing calendar, Tour Britannia has long established itself as a must-do annual event among its enthusiastic competitors. It takes place over the long weekend of 17-19 June and this year’s course will take in Pembrey, speedy Castle Combe and the new Silverstone race circuits and, of course the historic Prescott Hill Climb, together with numerous other tarmac stages. The 2011 competitors will also be the first to use the newly-unveiled pit facilities at Silverstone, a month before the Formula One grid arrives for the British Grand Prix. There's a strong cross-section of entries including everything from a Mini Cooper and MGB up to a Ferrari 250GTO and no less than five Porsche 911 RSRs. “I would like to welcome the Tour newcomers and thank all of our regular entrants for their ongoing support, as the quality and quantity of the 2011 event is stronger than ever,” said Tour Britannia organiser Alec Poole. “The strength and depth of Tour Britannia grows with every year and I can’t wait to get this year’s event under way - my only regret is that I can’t enter myself!” Prices for the 2011 Tour Britannia start from £2585 for a car and two people and further details are available from www.tourbritannia.com
