VW Jetta is back from the dead! But do we want it?

After an inspired choice to revitalise the fabulous-then-and-better-now Scirocco, VW have taken this model re-incarnation theme a step too far, surely? Yep, retro drum roll please... the Jetta is back! Surely, a VW best forgotten? On the plus side, it's cheap (for VW) – starting at £16,960 OTR for the entry-level 122PS, 1.4 TSI S model, going up to the range-topping 140PS, 2.0-litre TSi with DSG (excellent engine and gearbox), costing £22,320. There will also be a twin-charged 1.4-litre petrol offering 160PS, featuring 7-speed DSG, and excellent BlueMotion technology 1.6-litre TDi versions, with six and 7-speed DSG's, or five-speed manuals. And all models come with air con, MP3 stereo, six airbags, ABS, ESP, alarm and folding rear seats. But really... do we want the Jetta back? Really?
