Audi's compact class RS 3




















Audi has launched its first-ever 'compact class' RS model, the RS 3 Sportback. Orders are open from December, priced at £39,990, with deliveries expected April 2011. It's loaded with a 2.5-litre TFSI, Direct Injection, turbocharged five-cylinder lump, linked to a seven-speed S Tronic twin clutch gearbox and, naturally, Quattro 4WD. It's quoted to deliver 340PS and 450Nm, 0-62mph in 4.6s, a limited 155mph V-max and 31mpg. Additionally, it will have 19-in rims, flared lightweight C-F-reinforced plastic wings, a wider track and Sport function offering enhanced throttle response and exhaust growl, and adjustable Electronic Stability Control maps.
